Quiet morning loops through Fletcher Moss, before the joggers arrive.
Didsbury has the best park infrastructure in South Manchester. Fletcher Moss alone is worth the postcode — botanical gardens, woodland, open lawns, river access, all in one walk. I run regular routes through M20 from Chorlton, a short drive via Princess Parkway.
Didsbury dogs tend to be well-socialised because the area is so dog-friendly — most cafés are dog-welcome, the pubs are dog-welcome, the parks are heaving with sociable groups. That makes group walks work better here than almost anywhere else in South Manchester.
Didsbury has some lovely small parks for local loops. For proper open space and off-lead running, we head 10 minutes down the road to Turn Moss or the Chorlton parks — where the space, and the sociable off-lead crowd, really is.
Where most of my Didsbury dogs end up. 10-12 minutes from most M20 postcodes. Big, flat, open — proper space for off-lead running and recall practice.
10 minutes from Didsbury. 12-hectare lake with a circular path. Quieter in the mornings, muddy in winter, dog-friendly year-round.
10 minutes into the Mersey Valley. Wooded, riverside, off-lead heaven for confident recall dogs.
Beautiful for a shorter local loop when a full drive isn't needed. Botanical gardens on-lead; playing fields off-lead round the back.
Same services I run across all of South Manchester. Didsbury clients get the same pickups, the same photo updates, the same small-pack walks.
60-minute walks in small groups (max 6 dogs). I match dogs by energy and temperament — your dog isn't just shoved in with whoever's around.
For nervous, reactive, recovering or senior dogs who need one-to-one attention. Same hour, same updates, just no other dogs.
Short walks for under-6-month puppies. Lead training, socialisation, and a tired pup at the end. Builds towards full walks as they grow.
I cover the eight postcodes below. If you're on the edge of my radius, ask anyway — I sometimes take on neighbouring streets if the route works.
