Levenshulme — Levy to anyone who lives here — is one of those parts of South Manchester that gets dismissed as 'urban' until you actually see the green space. Highfield Country Park is 145 acres of woodland, meadow and pond on Levy's southern edge. Hardly anyone uses it before 9am.
I cover M19 as part of my regular South Manchester loop. The Levy walk is one of the longer routes for high-energy dogs who need a proper run. If you've been walking the same Cringle Park loop for two years and your dog is bored, ask me about Highfield.

30 acres on the Levenshulme/Burnage edge. Mature trees, open lawn, ponds. A short drive from most of M19 and a genuinely calm walk for dogs who don't need the wide open of Highfield.
A 7-mile traffic-free path that crosses Levenshulme — runs from Chorlton to Fairfield. Perfect for long walks with confident leash-walkers.
