Stretford is on the up — coffee shops, the Mall, new builds — and the dog scene has come with it. Longford Park is 51 acres of woodland, open lawn, ponds and hidden pockets. It's the most varied single park in South Manchester and I'll argue that with anyone.
I'm 10 minutes from most of M32. I cover Stretford as part of my regular Chorlton-Stretford route, with Turn Moss and Stretford Meadows as the longer-walk options for high-energy dogs who need more than a 45-minute park loop.

Stretford's open playing fields right on the Chorlton border. Park easily off Newport Road, walk in. Excellent for confident off-lead dogs who need wide sightlines.
