Hough End fields — 80 acres of off-lead heaven, on Withington's doorstep.
Withington gets overlooked because Didsbury is next door and Chorlton is across the river — but Hough End playing fields are 80 acres of open space right on the M20 boundary, and almost no one outside the area uses them mid-week.
I cover Withington as part of my regular South Manchester route. Hough End in the morning, Withington Park for shorter walks, Old Moat for senior dogs who need a quieter loop. If you're around West Didsbury, Burton Road or Lapwing Lane, I'm probably already in the area.
The parks and routes I actually use in M20 — not a generic list of green spaces.
80 acres of flat, open playing fields. Off-lead heaven for confident dogs. Sociable in the mornings — there's a regular dog-walker community here. The best non-park park in South Manchester.
Central Withington's main green space. Manageable loop, sociable, a fountain, benches. Good for senior dogs or quick walks.
Small, residential, quiet. Perfect for nervous or reactive dogs. The kind of park that's actually a park.

Same services I run across all of South Manchester. Withington clients get the same pickups, the same photo updates, the same small-pack walks.
60-minute walks in small groups (max 6 dogs). I match dogs by energy and temperament — your dog isn't just shoved in with whoever's around.
For nervous, reactive, recovering or senior dogs who need one-to-one attention. Same hour, same updates, just no other dogs.
Short walks for under-6-month puppies. Lead training, socialisation, and a tired pup at the end. Builds towards full walks as they grow.
I cover the eight postcodes below. If you're on the edge of my radius, ask anyway — I sometimes take on neighbouring streets if the route works.
30 minutes. No payment. No obligation. I come to you, meet your dog, and we work out if we're the right fit.
